Nu Quintet is a dynamic NYC-based wind quintet redefining the classical experience. We present innovative programs, champion contemporary composers, and engage in accessible, meaningful outreach. Highlights include residencies with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, premieres of over 20 works, and educational initiatives through our annual "Nu Works" series.
About the Position
Who Should Apply
A versatile, collaborative oboist passionate about chamber music and new work. Someone eager to perform, engage with communities, and contribute administratively to a growing ensemble.
Responsibilities

Perform in concerts, educational programs, and outreach events

Rehearse and plan artistically with the ensemble

Engage emerging composers through the"Nu Works" initiative

Contribute to administrative areas such as marketing, grant writing, or operations
Qualifications

Highly proficient in oboe performance with chamber experience

Passion for contemporary music and new works

Strong communication and collaborative mindset

Interest or skills in marketing, logistics, or recording are a plus

Based in NYC or willing to relocate
Compensation
This is a part-time, project-based position. Each member earned approximately $4,000 in 2024, depending on performances and grants. Members are paid as independent contractors as projects are completed.
